Welcome to week number two in my Wedding Wednesday series! My featured wedding today comes from a blog that I only found recently, but immediately fell in love with.
Michelle’s beautiful picture as a bride in her sidebar over at the Vintage Apple had me convinced that I wanted her for this series almost as soon as I thought up the idea for Wedding Wednesday.
What was the main inspiration you used when planning your wedding?
I have always loved old Hollywood glamour and all things vintage. I wanted my style to be a reflection of my personality and a mixture of the style I loved. I also wanted to incorporate my then fiance (now husband's) sense of style as well. My theory? I want to be able to look back at my wedding pictures and not regret anything! I don't want to worry about what my future kids might say about my sense of style/fashion in the wedding pictures!
What was your favorite resource?
I had several resources that I relied upon religiously. Pinterest was number one! I found so many different color schemes, floral bouquets, photo ideas for our photographer, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, shoes...I could go on and on! Pinterest is a great place to open up a future bride's mind! I also loved looking at Style Me Pretty and Wedding Chicks. Those were my favorites. I never really used The Knot unless it was an etiquette related question I had.
What was one thing that you splurged on?
I splurged on the venue. I wanted a very small and intimate wedding. I didn't want a wedding where there were so many people I would be saying "hello" and "thanks for coming" all night. My husband and I picked a beautiful place in The Woodlands, TX called The Woodlands Resort. It was everything we were looking for! Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, everything rolled into one!
If you could describe your wedding day in one word, what would it be?
Magic.
Old, new, borrowed, blue?
My old was a piece of my great-grandmother's wedding dress sewn into a handkerchief that I carried with my bouquet. My new was my wedding dress and blusher veil. My borrowed was my crystal bracelet. My blue was my "I Do" stickers on the bottom of my Nina shoes.
What is one thing that you will always remember about your wedding day?
The look on my now husband's face when I was walking down the aisle! It was beautiful. I also will never forget the feeling of my daddy's arm when I was walking down the aisle. It was perfect.
If you could change anything about your wedding, what would it be?
Absolutely nothing!!!! It was perfect! Even though there were a few hiccups throughout the day, none of them even mattered. I was about to marry the man of my dreams...what could possibly ruin that?! Nothing!
Any advice for future brides?
Love every single moment of the day!!! Your wedding day will FLY by! Soak it all in!!!
Can we please talk about that last photo for a minute? I’ve been seeing them pop up on Pinterest for a little while now, and I think it is one of the most beautiful pictures you can get from your wedding day! Gorgeous!
Thank you so so so much Michelle for posting about your wedding today! You were a beautiful bride, and your wedding looked like it truly was special.
Happy Wedding Wednesday!
