{wedding wednesday: protect yourself}

Find great wedding magazines at Value Mags.

I got an email from my best friend (who just got engaged) with a link to this article. As a wedding planner, the thought that a wedding vendor would just steal that much money, and ruin the biggest day of multiple lives, is absolutely horrifying. I just can't even imagine what these people must have gone through, to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a promise that your wedding will be absolutely perfect, and finding out that it was just a scam.

It got me thinking about how you can protect yourselves from shady wedding vendors and companies, so something like this doesn't happen to you. I know this isn't the most exciting topic, but I promise that you'll be thankful for it if something (God forbid) does happen on your wedding day.
Here are a few resources and more information for you about what you can do to protect yourself on your wedding day:

1 // WedSafe is one of the most well known and well respected companies for wedding insurance. They also offer liability insurance, in addition to cancellation or postponement insurance.

2 // Here is some more information from the Knot on wedding insurance, and why you would need it.

3 // Katy Carrier is an attorney for wedding professionals, and she has shared some contract basics.

4 // Offbeat Bride has a great post with information about copyright, and how it applies to your wedding photos.

5 // I know it isn't a happy subject, but here is a little information about prenups.
There are no real rules for Wedding Wednesday, I just ask that your post be wedding related. It doesn’t need to be the same topic that I’m posting about. I also ask that you try to visit a few other blogs to say hi, and I would love it if you would use my button (found here).
