So, I apologize for missing Five Things on Friday, but I'm sure you'd just rather me skip a post that half-ass it, right? Well, I'm back for now, and I'm really excited to give you another edition of Words with Bloggers.
I found Laicie's blog last month, and I just can't get enough. Not to mention, it's just so pretty to look at! So, of course I had to ask her to share her word of the week with us.
Name :: Laicie // Blog :: A Thousand Threads
What does the word "grit" mean to you?
Why did you choose this word for your week?To me, grit represents true courage and determination… the ability to go out there and try, fail, and try again. There's nothing I respect more than a little grit.
Grit isn't the prettiest word… it's a little rough around the edges. But in that way, it's a lot like life. There are ups and downs, successes and losses, and with each setback we become a little stronger. Grit isn't necessarily pretty, but it's strong. It knows who it is, and that's an admirable quality to have.
I can't even begin to tell you how much this word means to me this week. I'm coming off of an incredible, surreal, game changing wedding for me (see a sneak peek on Facebook!), and I honestly can't believe that it's over. I once asked an established planner how she got to where she was, and her answer? Blood, sweat, and tears.
I am a firm believer that if you have the passion, and are willing to put in the hard (sometimes exhausting, thankless) work, then the talent will follow. I'm just now starting to see it pay off, and it's truly an amazing feeling. So don't be afraid of a little grit. You might just surprise yourself.

Love today's word--I love what you shared about "grit" at the end. How do you always manage to say the things that I need to hear most? Are you sure you're not psychic?
Haha I guess life just goes in seasons, and we're in the same season now :) Have a fab week my dear. xoxo
Thank you for having me today, Joelle!! You couldn't have put it better there at the end. :)
Such an amazing word to choose, Laicie! I agree, it's a rough word, but once you explain the reasoning behind it, it's the perfect word (and a strong one, too!)! Fantastic post, and thanks for introducing me to Joelle Charming - this is such a wonderful blog, I'm a new follower! xo
absolutely love this post! off to check out laicie's blog now.
