Day 19: Disrespecting Parents

Even if my mom didn't read my blog, I would still say that it's important to respect your parents. Well, to a certain extent, at least.

I think that every person comes to a point in their life when they realize that their parents aren't perfect. This can be really difficult to learn, and I think sometimes people rebel against their parents, using any little mistake as an excuse to be disrespectful.

Now, I'm not saying I was an angel child; far from it, in fact. I was a spoiled brat who didn't appreciate what my family did for me. Looking back, I feel badly for the way that I treated my mother and grandmother, who definitely didn't deserve it. But the past is the past and I am trying to live a better life now. That's all I can do.

Questioning your parent's authority is a rite of passage for all teenagers, but there's a fine line between finding who you are as a person and putting other people down in the process. It's a balancing act, and finding that balance can be tough.

There's not much more to say about it. So that's all for this post.

I will be back a little bit later to post my exciting new blog hop, so keep a lookout!

Much love to all of you {especially my mom},
