Today’s Wedding Wednesday feature comes from the beautiful Amanda over at Amanda’s Daily Obsessions.
What was the main inspiration you used when planning your wedding?
I was going for something vintage/classic/girly. Totally my style and the way our home is decorated. In fact, a lot of the decor from the wedding decorates our house now! I found the perfect pale peachy-pink bridesmaids dresses at Jcrew and that set the (quite girly) color scheme of pinks and whites. My mom and I got all of the mismatched china and table decor at thrift stores and swap meets which gave it the vintage feel I was going for.
What was your favorite resource?
Google and Martha Stewart mostly. I had a file on my computer full of inspiration. I wish I had pinterest then, I’m helping a friend plan her wedding now and it makes it so easy!
What was one thing that you splurged on?
Photography, definitely! Now being a photographer it was clearly what I was most picky about, but I’d recommend anyone to save elsewhere and invest in a great photographer you love. When it’s all said and done the pictures are what you have left to remember the day by, you don’t want to wish you had shifted your budget to get a better photographer after the fact. There are no do-overs for a wedding.
If you could describe your wedding day in one word, what would it be?
Magical, absolutely magical! It turned out exactly how I envisioned and there were even twinkly lights in the trees that made me think of Disneyland! But even if none of that were true I’d feel the same way, It’s utter magic marrying the love of your life! And I think your wedding day will be perfect no matter what!
Old, new, borrowed, blue?
I had an antique brooch attached to my sash for old, the dress was new, I borrowed a pearl bracelet from one of my bridesmaids and my garter was blue.
What is one thing that you will always remember about your wedding day?
The way my husband looked at me. It was like I was the most beautiful person in the whole world.
If you could change anything about your wedding, what would it be?
Hmm… I suppose if we had a bigger budget I might have changed a few things, but I absolutely loved everything the way it was, it really did turn out just how I wanted…except the heat, but there’s not much you can do about that. It rained the day before!
Any advice for future brides?
I shared a ton of advice on Brooke’s blog here.
But the main thing is don’t stress and enjoy the day! Even if everything goes wrong it will still be the best day of your life! You’ll be married to your best friend and at the end of the day that’s the only thing that matters.
Wasn’t her wedding gorgeous! And I love the pink! So beautiful.
And now, you can link up your own Wedding Wednesday posts!

Are you still doing blog designs? I might want to change mine up a little in the next month or two.

Such a pretty wedding! :)
Stunning wedding! I really liked her advice about the photographer. It definitely will help to have someone who can truly capture the moments the way you want them to.
