Oh, and I already drank my coffee today. It wasn't very good.
If we were having a chat over coffee today, I would tell you that I'm homesick right now. It's kind of strange, because I'm only at work, sitting at the same desk I sit at every weekday. Maybe it's because of the three day weekend. Or maybe I'm just feeling especially sentimental today.
I think, though, it has something to do with the title of my blog {and one of my favorite quotes}: Where We Love is Home.
I don't love here. I don't love even in this city. And sometimes, when I'm in a place that I don't love, with people I don't know, I get homesick. Like today. So I'm going to lunch with my friend, because I love her, and hopefully that will make me less homesick.
If we were having coffee today, I would tell you that I'm not perfect. I know, shocking, right? I judge people sometimes.
But I think I realized something this weekend. I think I realized that my life is the one that is important to me. And before you go off, saying that's really inconsiderate and mean, it's true.
I don't need to judge other people and the choices that they make in their lives if it doesn't affect me. My life is the one I should be worried about. My life, and the lives of the people that I care about. We all have been given the amazing gift of choice in this life, and everyone should be free to enjoy that gift.
If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I really love this quote. Like really. A lot.

Because taking risks is important, if you want to get anywhere. And things always seem to work themself out. I need to remember that too.
Love you.

I love this "Virtual Coffee" post...did you get it from someone? I may have to do this sometime!
I'm sorry you're feeling homesick, though. Every once in a while I get this awful feeling, even when I'm at home and happy, that I just don't belong there. I don't know how else to describe it, but I can sympathize with your feelings right now. I hope it gets better :)
awesome post Joelle!
I do not know if your blog is an award free one or not, but I would love to pass on the 'good bloggers pay it forward' to you today. the award is on my blog post if you would like to grab it. :)

I like that quote at the end as well. It kind of perfectly describes my life as a working actor. :-) Lots of cliff-jumping and wing-building. Cheers.

homesick=no fun. so sorry... i hope your lunch brightened up your day!
The wind-down after holiday weekends always makes me a little nostalgic and homesick too...I wish all the people we loved and who love us could be right where we are sometimes :)
If we were having coffee today I would tell you about our busy but fun weekend in Omaha visiting family and friends and the great deals I got at Old Navy over the weekend!
I always love reading your blog! This post is another reason why. I get to see you grow, change, and resist to be like everyone else. You are you, and you are amazing!
I heart you, pretty girl!
xoxo
you have such an adorable blog :)
I love this 'virtual coffee'!!! I am curious too, where did you get this idea? Is it a link-up post or your own? And if it IS your own, you should make it a link-up :)
I love that top poster! - I have one saved on pinterest with the same quote, just with a house and would love to frame it and put it next to our bed :)
No worries, we all judge people sometimes, and we all get homesick sometimes, but you're right the most important thing is to rather try and work on ourselves.
xoxo
