Happy Hour

Happy Friday friends! Can you believe that the week is almost over? Time has just been going by so fast these days, and it's kind of scary. Last weekend couldn't have been almost five days ago...could it?

Anyway, tonight I'm going out to dinner with some of my dearest friends. My best friend is taking her comprehensive exams tomorrow to get her Master's in Public Policy and Administration, so we are wish her good luck with a yummy dinner at Woodranch. That means that I'll probably be having a nice glass of wine with my tri-tip. Yum.

Like I said, these week has gone by very, very quickly. We didn't do too much, just dinner with friends {as usual} and shopping last night for some nice work clothes for the husband and makeup for me {I only wear MAC makeup}.

Tomorrow we are going to start our search for a puppy! Robert and I live in a decent {and decently sized} apartment in a good area, and we definitely make enough money to afford a dog. I contacted the Humane Society today though, and they told us that they wouldn't adopt out to us because we don't have our own fenced in yard! It doesn't matter that Robert works from home 3 of the 5 days of the week, or that we have a nice courtyard for the pup, or that we were going to get a petsitter/dog walker for those other 2 days that nobody is here, they basically told us no right then and there! I was very upset, but when I realized that the process for adopting through the humane society takes about 3 weeks anyway, we decided to go through the county shelter, who is much easier to work with. They still make sure that the dogs are healthy, up to date on their shots, and spayed/neutered, and they are less expensive to adopt from! So wish us luck!

Our entire weekend is pretty much dedicated to a dog, if we get one. We have no other plans for the next two days, which is probably a good thing. Our office is almost ready to be the dog's room, we just need to pick up a few more things and set up it's bed and crate, and it will be done! I'm so very excited, and I just don't know how I am going to make it through today...I'm so anxious!

Anyway, I'm linking up today with {av} at Long Distance Loving for Friday's Fancies. Last week was a nautical theme, and I guess I'm still in that mindset because I came up with another outfit this week that has navy and white stripes. But I really love the yellow! What do you think?

And here are some pretty flowers to help you get through your Friday. Don't you wish you had some of these on your kitchen table right now?

Hope you all have a beautiful Friday!

good luck with your doggie search! i cant believe the humane society wouldnt let you adopt bc you dont have a yard! hardly anyone has a yard in the cities and there are dogs everywhere! craziness. o well, better in the end that you go with a new place so it doesnt take for ever! cant wait to meet him or her ;) xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams

Those yellow shoes are divine, and the last flower photo needs to appear in my house! LOL.

I can't wait for the weekend to begin. I would like to welcome it with a nice glass of pinot noir!

When I adopted my cat from the humane society they grilled and grilled me about so many things! I was like, come on people, I'm helping you and these animals out by wanting to spoil one rotten. They even asked me how much money I thought it would cost to own a cat per year. Sheesh. So good luck on the hunt - we're adopting a puppy soon too. Also, love your FF outfit! Have a great weekend!

i'm allllll for the county shelter pets.

but if you don't find what you're looking for, i adopted both of my dogs from Newbury Pet Supply. it's a store that rescues a vanload of dogs and cats every week from kern county (high euthenization shelters) and adopt them out from their shop for $130. the fee includes adoption and spay/ neuter. AND they give you about a week's worth of free food. my sister get her dog there and a friend got his as well- all turned out to be great pets. (they usually have more pets than what's listed online- they're not great at updating the website.)

and... if neither of those work, try the LIFE Animal Rescue in Agoura. i don't know how strict their guidelines are, but i'm in their facebook group and it looks like they're always looking for adoptive pet-parents.

GOOD LUCK!!
