I’ve done a lot of thinking lately, about what it means to be ladylike. It’s a subjective term, one that’s most definitely up for interpretation. It’s ever evolving, but there are some things that will always be. But, in the end, being ladylike is so much more than the pearls your wearing, or how straight you’re sitting. It is who you are, as a person, the entire package.

I means keeping your promises, but letting go of commitments early if you can’t put the effort in that you promised.
It means speaking your mind, because ladies have opinions. But it also means sharing them with others in a gracious, open-minded way.
It means keeping your head high when the world tries to tell you “no,” because you know that the answer is “yes you can.”
It means loving yourself just as much as you love everyone else, because you’re just as important as they are.
It means taking pride in your work, and not being afraid to show others what you’ve accomplished.
But it also means being sincerely happy for the accomplishments of others.
It means finding your own style, but using outside inspiration to get there.
And it means being grateful for what you have now, but always believing in yourself enough to know that you will get to where you want to be. Someday.
