I saw a tweet recently from one of my favorite wedding bloggers, and it made me think. We have such an amazing community that we've created by blogging, yet we're so afraid to talk about the real things that matter sometime. We're scared that we'll be judged, or that other people won't agree with us. I know that I am, and I need to just stop it.
I try to be neutral on this blog, but I'm actually very politically passionate. I was a political science major, after all. However, this isn't about who I'm going to vote for {though I'm sure you'll know}. This is me taking a stand, and not being ashamed of what I believe, with all my heart, is right. I may lose a few followers this week, but I'll risk it. It's worth my rights, and the rights of those that I love.
Don't worry. I won't talk economics or healthcare, though I'm passionate about those things too. It's the social issues that matter to me. One of which not only affects some of my closest friends, but also has a direct impact on my choice of career. We're inherently selfish beings, so of course I want more work ;)
Some of my best friends don't agree with me, but we're still friends. So you can be sure that I'm not an angry arguer. Most of the time, at least. Just don't try to talk politics with after a few glasses of wine. I welcome debate on this blog, but I don't welcome downright meanness. That's just not cool. So be warned.
Also, I love you all. That's why I believe what I believe. And that's why I am going to share it with you.

i'm looking forward to reading it all :) you won't be losing me as a follower!
You wont lose me either ! xo
Excited to see what you have to say!!
I think I'm similar - I like debate, but I don't like confrontation and I think the line between the two can be extremely thin.
I'll definitely be sticking around - love it when blogs have the courage to be meaty :)
Excited to hear what you have to say - I have a feeling we'll agree on almost everything :)
