It's no secret that I have some unwarranted anxiety about my work space. I think it's because in this age of blogs and Pinterest, it seems like everyone has the most perfect home office, except for me. I really liked this post that Becka did a while, on the reality of where people work during the day. I guess that perfect isn't really the norm. Functional is much more important.
I sit at my desk for most of the day now, obviously, so I really wanted a space that I wouldn't mind spending time at. Though my office is a work in progress (and you won't be seeing the rest of it, since I do share it with a boy), it's definitely good enough for now. Until I get a real office someday, of course.
What do you think? Is it what you expected?

I think it is so cute! I love all your little pieces, from your wedding books to your cute twine and washi tape! P.S. you went to Cal Lu?? I live right by it!
I think your office looks so cute and cozy! I love all the little details. My "office" is nothing special to look at, but it gets the job done...but one day I'd love to have a beautiful, feminine office! But it's nice to know I'm not the only person living in the real world! Thanks for always being honest lady! xoxo
I really love it! It looks cozy, yet organized. My "office" is in our bedroom, and tends to get clothing tossed over it every now-and-then.
It is what I expected! So pretty + still completely functional. I love knowing that we have matching desks :) I love how the size of this desk is just big enough without being too big or too small. Thanks again for the recommendation! xo, eliza
I think your office is cute! I love that you displayed your diploma. I'm just gearing up to making my own home office and I know it definitely won't look perfect!

So cute! Trying sharing your space with a BABY! Boys wont seem so bad.
Ha, yeah, hopefully I won't have to do that for a little while ;) At least you have a cute co-worker! xo
Thanks Kristina! It never is perfect, but all that matters is that it's yours ;) xoxo
Haha I'm sure it is! And I love that you got the same desk too. I really love it...I'm actually considering getting another for when I bring on an intern!
Thanks Allison! We almost moved into a one bedroom, but I'm so glad we didn't. We definitely need the extra space, away from where we sleep!
You most definitely are not the only one living in the "real world"...I've yet to see one of those perfectly girly offices in real life! We need functional, not perfection ;) xoxo
Thanks Brianna! I use all of those little things on a regular basis, so I really wanted to make sure they were easy to find...but they also add a cute little touch :) And I did go to CLU! I graduated in 2009, and my husband and I live in Ventura now!
I love it! It looks so different from the last time Leo and I saw it.
I love it! It makes me want to clean up my workspace!
I love your work space! The colors make it feel like a beautiful spring day! Something I also notice is that your handwriting is absolutely perfect and I'm completely jealous! :)
I think your office is charming! It's realistic and I'm sure what a lot of our workspaces actually look like day to day. I love you mug (I have the same one!) and I spy a lovely day planner from Whitney English!
For the space that you have, you did an amazing job packing in a ton of inspiration, personal moments, organizational tools, etc. I love how much it seems to reflect your personal style. This blog definitely looks like it belongs in the space :)
Joelle, I think your workspace is totally cute! I love all the wedding inspiration, your planner, and just how cute and functional it looks!
Your space is quite charming! Looks better than my ugly dorm desk at least. :P

Love your space. How darling.
Just found your blog - thru Pintrest - and am impressed. I love that you showed your "real" desk. As a designer and someone who has worked from home for several years ... I think that most of the home office images are styled in a manner that is ... quite frankly, unrealistic and unattainable for most people. So it's nice to see the real deal, and in a small way validate my own "chaotic" workspace.
Thanks!
