Robert and I made our way down to San Diego over the weekend for a conference mini vacation. We live about four hours away, so it's far enough to be a nice getaway, but close enough to still be convenient. On Thursday I was researching things to do while we were down there, and I came across the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. I just knew that we needed to make a stop on our way when I found out that ranunculus, one of my very favorite flowers, bloom in the spring!
We had an amazing time this past weekend, just exploring the city together and seeing friends and family. On Friday we attempted grilling our own steaks at the Gaslamp Strip Club, and then hung out at a dueling piano bar. Saturday was sunny enough to buy new swimsuits and lounge by the pool for a while before an amazing two hour spa session, and Sunday we got to see Robert's dad. By the time Sunday night came around, we were too exhausted to make the trip all the way home, and had to make a pit stop at my parents' house to stay the night. I guess that's the sign of a good weekend!
Have you ever been to the flower fields in San Diego? We're lucky enough to have a few other flower farms in Santa Barbara, so I have a feeling I'll be making that trip sometime soon too!
