I've been bothered lately, but really? What else is new. I love blogging. I wouldn't keep blogging if I didn't love it, to be honest. But I'm bothered. I'm bothered by the sameness these days. I'm bothered that everything exciting featured on bigger blogs is not really that exciting. The homes and the weddings and just the lives all seem the same.
I love this post that Ashley wrote recently about how our blogs only show one part of the story: the part that we want to share. It's so true, isn't it? But that being said, why do we all still feel the need to share the same things? I want to hear about your real lives, one that isn't perfectly styled on Instagram. I want to be able to share a real wedding, one that may not have many details but does have amazing photography and an honest love story. I want to see a real home, one that's actually lived in and doesn't have a gold bar cart. And I really don't want to see another post on how to style your coffee table. It's really not that difficult.
I know I'm ranting at this point, and don't even try to ask me what better ideas I have right now. But that's what I'm going to do this month; I'm going to come up with something that's both pretty and unique. Somethings that's beautiful and realistic. It has to be out there. Don't you think?

Rant my dear Joelle, I think there are a lot of us who feel the same way. Blog about what is important to you, not to others :)
I so know the feeling. I stopped following alot of those people. It's also why I am going to start sharing my life story. I want my readers to know where I came from and how I grew up. I want to share a part of me that many people don't see on the surface.I think more blogger need to do that.
I respect those who want to protect private parts of their lives (I do it too), but I agree that there is a lot of sameness these days. Or maybe the issue is that we're reading the wrong blogs? ;)
Thanks for the shout-out, Joelle! I'm with you on that...the trends take over and you're left with a lot of content looking the same. Your thoughts on weddings hit home for me because I realized that the weddings that get the most exposure focus way more on the details, decor, fashion, etc. and not on the actual wedding, couple, or meaning behind it all. I don't know if you know Rhi of Hey Gorgeous, but I love her blog and weddings and posts on her couples. I agree, there's a way to do it right, we just gotta find it!
I know what you mean. It's hard to stay inspired lately because everything just feels the same.
Ahh totally agree with you about all the gold bar carts & coffee table styling posts!
So true. I'm in the process of cleaning up my reading list for this very reason, and trying to think about my own content as well. Different is good :)
