{fourteen days}

I'm at a complete loss, friends. It's been an emotional few days for pretty much the entire world, and I've been having such complicated and strange feelings lately (though, really, what else is new).

There are only fourteen days left in what I would have to consider my best year ever. Looking back throughout these past twelve months is almost surreal; I never imagined that I would end 2012 where I am. Though as much as I love my life right now, I still have a few goals that I want to accomplish by the end of the year.

Specifically...
  • I'd love to sign just one more client  for 2013. I already have six weddings for 2013 and one for 2014, along with a few proposals out. It might happen, I can feel it!
  • I've been saying it for months now, but really. My office needs to get its shit together.
  • I'd really like to solidify and document my business processes (exciting, huh), and get all of my marketing plans and documents ready for the first of the year. January is wedding planning season, after all.
  • Robert has these next few weeks off, so I kind of want to take some time for just us. I've been working from home for only a week now, but I'm already feeling guilty for taking afternoons off. I get it all done, and I work into the night, if needed. It's the holidays too...I guess I deserve a little vacation, right?
Whether or not I actually meet all of these goals, life has been good lately. Really  good.
What are you hoping to accomplish before the end of the year?

I know I'll be blogging these next two weeks, but I still want to wish all of you a wonderful, beautiful, and safe holiday! xoxo

Having been self-employed for 6 years now, the hardest thing for me (still) is feeling guilty for not always working during normal hours, when everyone else I know is stuck at an office. I continually have to remind myself that part of the reason I love what I do is the flexible schedule and I think it all evens out in the end. You and I will be working on weekends while everyone else we know will be out doing fun things! I've learned to take time off when I can b/c other times of the year I find that I'm working 70+ hours a week.

I really like that last little quote there. Good luck with your goals and remember, it's ok if you don't meet them all, just add it to the list for Jan.

Thanks Millie! It just takes so long to do, which is why it's in a bun most of the time ;) Hope you have a wonderful holiday as well! xoxo

I take afternoons off all the time — one of the perks of being self-employed! I work better at night anyway, so if I'm just not feeling it during the day, I don't sweat it. It's definitely a weird adjustment!

LOVING this post, girl. And of COURSE it's more than okay for you to take some time off, both because of the holidays and because of Robert's time off. Loving these photos from your life lately. I'm working on our photos today so I'll send a preview soon!!
