Happy Hour

Happy Friday to all of my wonderful and beautiful friends! What are you drinking today?

I think I might have my husband make one of his fabulous margaritas for me tonight. I haven't had one in a few weeks, and it sounds really delicious {even at 7:45 in the morning...shhhh, don't tell anyone}.

Anyway, I'm just sitting here at my desk waiting for 4:00 to come around. This week has been stressful, to say the least, but I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I guess it's true that time really does go by faster when you're having a good time.

On Wednesday night my husband and I met my brother for dinner in the Valley. My brother drove up from Orange County, and my husband drove all the way down from Santa Barbara so that they could go to a freerunning gym. We decided to stop at Brent's Deli for dinner. We had never been before, but I saw it on Yelp and remembered watching it on Food Network's Best Thing I Ever Ate {love that show}. We got the Black Pastrami Reuben and it was wonderful.

Yesterday, while waiting for Robert to come home from work, I felt like I needed to get out of the apartment, so I went to Barnes and Noble to look around. I needed some more writing books to keep me inspired and motivated, but when I got there, I decided to pick up The Time Traveler's Wife. I had never read it before and had always heard how good it is. I'm a sucker for the seriously romantic, and so far this isn't disappointing. I'm sure I'll get sucked in soon, but as of now I can still put it down. Have any of you read it? Did you like it?

I don't think it will be the perfect romance that I'm looking for. I don't think I'll ever find it, until I write it myself. So there's my motivation.

This weekend I finally get to throw my party! I am so very excited for it {though how we are going to fit so many people into our little apartment, I have no idea...}. We are going shopping after I get home from Trader Joe's today to buy all of the yummy snacks and desserts, and we've already stocked up on bar supplies {read: gin and vodka and tequila and wine} from the new BevMo that just opened. I can wait for tomorrow night, and to take pictures so that I can share them with all of you!

Anyway, here are a few of the things I've found this week that I want to share:

There's just something about Napa weddings...

I'm not a big poetry person, but I. Love. This.

Gorgeous. Inspiring. Breathlaking. Love it.

I've worn my new jacket twice this week. Just can't get over it.

I want to know what inspires you to dream.

We do happy hour all day on Fridays. Because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?

What are you drinking today?

Happy Hour is my weekly blog party, where we get to meet new friends, find new blogs to read, and destress from our week.  We're all busy ladies and sometimes we just need to get out with some friends, chat, and have a drink.

How to enter the party:
  1. Must be a follower of Love is Home to participate. If you aren't already a follower, just click that "follow" button over there to the right.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of this post and click on the link to enter.
  3. Add your blog's information and button.
  4. And you're done!
How to play:
  1. Write a post about anything you want to write about. Do you need to vent about a stressful week? It's okay, we all have them and that's what we're here for. Vent away. Did you have a fantastic day? We want to hear about that too. Or do you have big plans for the weekend? You know what to do...
  2. Visit two other blogs linked below and leave a comment, saying that you are from {Where We Love} Happy Hour.
  3. Come back and leave a comment below telling us who you visited and any wonderful new blogs you found.
But there are some rules...
  1. Don't post and run...that's not cool. And if you do, your link will be deleted.
  2. I thoroughly dislike "copy and paste" comments...you know, the ones that say "I'm a new follower from Happy Hour, I would love for you to follow back..." blah blah blah. Don't do it, please. I don't want to have to delete a link for doing that either. The purpose of this is to find new blog friends and support each other. We like authentic followers, ones that actually enjoy our blogs and aren't blindly following a bunch of blogs in hopes that they will gain more followers.
And if you want, you are welcome to use one of my buttons in your post!

Much love,

I am such a margarita girl! They make me think of summer--much needed on this cold, gray, rainy Philadelphia day. :(

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hey Joelle - its Ashley. I am officially following your blog after looking at it frequently for a while now. I love it! I read the Time Traveler's Wife a few years ago and found the non-sequential timeline confusing at times but ended up loving the book in the end. It just took a while to get into. The movie doesn't do the story justice. I'm sure you'll end up liking it. Have a great weekend!

My first time joining Happy Hour! :)

I visited "love, Julie" - such a pretty blog ... and now I want pancakes! Also stopped by "The Scarlet Cardinal" - she has some great fashion finds to share, so now I want to go shopping, especially for chevron patterns!

Thanks for hosting! Happy weekend, enjoy your margarita :)

I never got round to reading The Time Traveler's Wife but I did catch the movie - thought it was lovely and rather heart-breaking. But still, a good watch!

Again, Happy Hour Fridays! :) Definitely the highlight.

I visited Love, Julie - pancakes! The cutest and the sweetest. Oh I crave for pancakes now. I'm such a pig sometimes, well make that all the time! Haha. Also, I visited The Scarlet Cardinal - glad to know I'm not the only one in love with polka dots and mustard colored clothings! And you've gotta see that fabric necklace she posted! I wanna grab a piece for myself already. Gorgeous piece. And then I decided to make a visit to Chesterrific as well - gotta read how amazing her father-in-law is! And how she's all about spending quality time with her man on a date after a while. Too sweet. :)

Have a gorgeous Friday & weekend, all you ladies! xx

1. Brent's Deli is SO GOOD. They have one in Westlake Village, too, which I know is probably closer than the valley.

2. The Time Traveler's Wife is a great book. I think you will love it! (I did)

Have a good weekend, and enjoy your margarita!

Time Travelers Wife was such a good book! Slow going, but good.

I visited Love, Julie, who has an adorable blog, with her most recent post on things she has been enjoying lately! I love it! The little stack of pancakes makes me happy.

Also, Chesteriffic has a cute little post on how she loves her in laws and has a great relationship with them... and well I'm jealous! haha. I do love my family a ton as well.

Oooh- Time Traveler's Wife! I enjoyed it a lot. You'll have to let us know what you thought.

I visited Married in Chicago- I loved helping her choose a dress! :)

Also, I visited Simply Sporadic who inspired me to try to make paper cranes myself. It's harder than it looks, that's for sure! So kudos to you, SS!

I started reading The Time Traveler's Wife and got a good way through, but then sort of lost interest near the end. I don't have that much farther to go until I finish the book. I stopped reading it about a year ago. The movie is what made me want to finish the book, to give it a second try. Probably over the summer I'll get to finish it, but right now, I can't because the end of the semester is in full swing, and I have a lot of assignments on my plate.

I thought The Time Traveler's Wife was a MUCH better book than movie!! The timeline was confusing every now and then, but I enjoyed it overall.

I stopped by Cornflake Dreams and got an AWESOME summer playlist from her. I am rocking out to it right now :)

I also visited Love, Julia and found such an adorable collection of inspiration photos!

Thanks for hosting! I always find the best blogs through this meet up :)
