{monday's mantra}

I am having a serious problem with my anxiety these days. It's getting to the point where I can't concentrate on what I need to do now because I'm so focused on what I need to do to get there. I also have a problem wanting to get everything done right. now. Which is impossible.

I'm usually really good at writing down the steps, but I'm getting impatient and it's stressing me out. So this week I'm going to focus on just taking one step at a time. I need to prioritize, and just get shit done.

What's your mantra this week?

my mantra at the moment - something is better than nothing :)

I think I'm going to have to go with you on this one. I just need to get stuff done because there is a ton of it to do.

haha that's what I am like ever since arriving in London 11 years ago. I really need to kick it as I am a sort of organised person ... good luck !

Love Chrissi xo

I've had so much help from mindfulness training. I read a book and it literally changed my life. It's by a Swedish author, but he's been very inspired by Jon Kabat-Zinn, so I guess reading a book by him would be just as good. Or better. I look at my life and my feelings in a whole different way now and it's helping me every day to keep stress and anxiety under control

the mantra is key, but also I love how you've tweaked your design!

love this! i need to remember this too... i keep thinking about the future and lots of big grown-up decisions we need to make, but sometimes you cant plan everything and i need to be okay with that.

I'm struggling with this myself- thanks for the reminder, Joelle! Hope you have a wonderful week! :) PS..- Your blog is lookin' awesome!

Thanks so much Kate! I don't know that I'll ever be done with my blog design, but it's definitely a start :)

Unknown said...

Exactly! I start to think of all of these other things, and it stresses me out. I think we all just need to slow down :)

Unknown said...

Haha thanks Betsy! xoxo

I could definitely use some training on this...it's really starting to stress me out! I prioritize as best I can, but that can only get me so far. I'll definitely check that author out, thanks!

haha I don't know how anyone could ever be "done"... good designs are always evolving! :)

Unknown said...

Thanks Chrissi! And good luck to you too ;)

Unknown said...

Ha, story of my life. We'll never be "done" I guess, so the best we can do is just get things started?

Unknown said...

That can be very true sometimes! xoxo

"Keep Calm and Sparkle On." I love this mantra. It makes me feel happy, this is a constant saying for me. Love.
Stopping by from Mingle Monday!

I'm the SAME way lately! Therefore, "get shit done" will be my week's mantra. Haha!

Unknown said...

Joelle, we *may* be the same person, just a little. This is totally my problem almost ALL the time. We seriously need to grab coffee soon to commiserate. ;)

Unknown said...

Hi Joelle,
Your blog is beautiful! I'm in love with your wedding designs and calligraphy. Where were you when I was getting married :) hahaha.
