{rocket fizz}

We have these really great old fashioned candy and soda shops here in Ventura County called Rocket Fizz. Actually, they have them all over the country now, but they were started in Camarillo, only a few minutes from where I live. I always know that I can get my taffy fix there, or find some really obscure sodas (like bacon flavored...what?) that my husband and his little brother would like.

A few weeks ago, my friend Emily from Anna Delores and I stumbled into one (the original one) while we were doing a little photo shoot in Camarillo. We were already giggly and having a blast together, so we just continued where we left off. I thought it would be a pretty adorable place to have an engagement shoot, don't you think?
Do you have any fun shops like this in your area? Where do you go to get your (vintage) candy fix?

Oh my! We had one of these in Vegas for a bit but I think they closed shortly before or after we moved out east. I still crave Lenonade. It's truly the only soda I'm willing to bend my "no soda ever rule" for. The list of reasons why So Cal should be our next vacation spot is getting longer every single day. Looks like you girls had an amazing time!

SO CUTE! I agree, a perfect place for an engagement shoot! We have an old fashioned candy store here too, but not nearly as cute. More funky if anything. But salt water taffy is my fav too, so I definitely go and load up now and then ;)

Could you seriously be more gorgeous? :)

A vintage candy shop opened up about a year ago in my hometown, but I like it best because I can get my fave American sweets like Vanilla Coke and Orbit gum! You're right, it totally would make a great place for an engagement shoot! The wedding I was at last weekend had a candy bar, which was a really neat touch that would totally fit in with a shoot like this!

That's so fun! I really love going to places like this, especially because they have my favorites like orange cream soda too :) And I love candy bars at weddings! I mean, who doesn't love stocking up on chocolate and licorice? xoxo

Haha California really does have some amazing places like this! And I don't know how you go without soda! It's definitely my vice. Right after coffee. And wine. And chocolate...

That looks like so much fun! There's a store in Richmond, where I used to live, called "For the Love of Chocolate" - best place to get vintage candy that I've ever been to!

LOVE THIS! The three of us need to meet up for E+L wedding excitement. Though I think the universe might implode with awesomeness. But seriously.

This store looks amazing! I'm not much of a candy person but when my boyfriend's having a craving we end up at Dylan's Candy Bar. Works like a charm :)

I've been doing it for almost 10 years now. It just kind of becomes habit I guess. Now if all my habits were that good for me! lol Chocolate is a vice of mine now but when I met my husband it wasn't. He couldn't believe he found a girl who didn't love chocolate. Crazier things have happened :)
