Virtual Coffee

It's Tuesday. It's also one of those days where my coffee just doesn't taste right. I tried multiple times this morning to get the sugar-to-milk-to-coffee ratio perfect. It's definitely not perfect, but I gave up after the third try. So, I'm putting up with less than stellar coffee, which, since it's from the office coffee pot, is pretty much a give in. Hopefully this doesn't set the theme for my day. Because I'm feeling better than I was yesterday, and I want to have a good Tuesday. Really, I do.

I had to leave work early yesterday because I was sick. I got home and slept for six hours, which seemed like a good idea at the time. Then bedtime {read: 9 o'clock} came and went and I was still awake. To be fair though, it wasn't entirely my fault. My husband was just exceptionally funny last night, and we were having too much fun watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to sleep. It's nights like last night that I wish we had more hours in the day. Or that I didn't require as much sleep as I do.

If we were really having coffee this morning {which I so wish we were}, I would tell you how I'm having some serious house envy right now. Don't get me wrong, I love my apartment {mostly because it's mine}, but I've been pouring over pictures from Honey We're Home and I just can't wait until I have a beautiful {and big} kitchen and my own office. There's not much I can do for my miniscule kitchen, but I'm starting to think that maybe I need to dedicate my own space in our little office, just for me. Somewhere that's all mine, that I can decorate and organize for myself, even if it's just a little corner. What do you think?

If we were really having coffee this morning, I would tell you how much I want to start my own event planning business, but I just have no idea where to start. Because however much I wish I could make writing my career, this is a little bit more realistic {even if just by a bit}. I have put some ads on Craigslist for free event planning, but nobody's bitten! And I'm working hard at getting my blog updated and website up, but I am seriously indecisive when it comes to stuff like designing things like that. So, if you have any suggestions on how I can get started, please let me know! And, if you know of anyone in the Ventura and Santa Barbara {California} areas that are getting married soon and might like some help planning, send them my way.

I think that might be it for today's edition of {Virtual Coffee}. Tonight is Glee. And chicken masala. And maybe an ice cream, I haven't decided yet. I love ice cream.

And I love you. Have a good day.

That office is to die for! Our office/guest room is pretty messy and bland but I feel like if we had a room like that I would keep it clean and pretty all the time :)

My coffee (chai tea) wasn't right this morning either--must be one of those days!

That is exactly what I did for my office space. I took one corner of our back den and made it into my own little office space. It's just enough space and it's all mine! lol Have a good one!

son't you wish we were all really catching up- sometimes i just have a pile of things that i need to chat to my blog friends about...
decorating and making office space is definately one of them!!

i have an entire room in our house dedicated to my sewing buisness and the home office...but it is pretty out of control at the moment...your pickie has inspired me to get it together a bit more!!

All in good time, Joelle. These things will come to you and more. Yes, do go and stake your claim to a corner of the office and make it yours, it will be your sacred space. Maybe you should have gone for tea this morning - office coffee pot - yikes! that brings back some nasty memories. Thanks for stopping by to see me today.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing with trying to start your event planning business. Word of mouth is the best way to get your business going I think.... If I knew anyone in that area I would totally refer you. Good luck in the future! I'm following your blog now! =)
