A Little Class

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been chasing this arbitrary concept that is “class.” I’ve never been one to focus too much energy on trends, and I’ve always preferred the classic look to the contemporary, but it encompasses so much more than that. I desperately want to be considered to have class, whatever that means. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve Googled the word, trying to find inspiration.

The word has been defined so many times, but none of those definitions matter. What matters is how I define it. And my definition includes all of the things that I want to be.

What is class?

It means pairing that perfect little black dress with a smile.

It means finding and owning your own style.

I means using icons for inspiration, not imitation.

It means loving yourself.

But always being gracious to others.

What does class mean to you?

xoxo,

To me, class is "Je ne sais quoi". Intangible. Timeless. Indefinable, but you know it when you see it.

i think "classy" is being feminine, but definitely not trampy. it's being gracious and a little modest. it's good posture and having comfort in your own body. and it's definitely not using foul language or being catty about others. IMO.

I love your definition. For me a young girl growing up in an unstable home. As I jumped from trailer park to trailer park "class" seemed more and more unattainable. Even now as an adult, in my weakest moments I doubt that it's possible, to be a woman with class. But this definition of yours... I can be her. Thank you.
