Last week I told you all of a new plan of mine to share with all of you a goal for the week, so that’s what I’m doing.
This week’s goal is important, because it’s something that I’ve been trying to do for a long time (about three months now). If you’ve been following me all this time, you probably know that one of my career aspirations is to start my own company as an event planner. I already have some experience doing this, but I have to create a website. So that’s what I’m going to do this week.
Goal: Get acharmingoccasion.com up and running.
This might seem like a pretty big goal for the week, but my problem lies in the fact that I just can never make up my damn mind. I’m way too picky at designing a website, and I forget sometimes that I’m not a website designer. All that I need to do right now is get something running that works for now. I don’t need a permanent site and I don’t need to figure out all of my marketing right now. I just need something to put on a business card.
So here’s my plan for the week:
Monday: Research what I want in a website and logo, and make a list of my basic requirements.
Tuesday: Create three potential logos and post them here so that you can help me decide which one to use.
Wednesday: Research possible Wordpress themes and choose one to use. Create a header that incorporates my logo.
Thursday: Spend only an hour on the layout of the theme, modifying it according to my needs.
Friday: Research marketing strategies for an hour.
Saturday: Complete the design on my website.
Sunday: Announce to all of you that it is complete. Post on Craigslist and utilize two other forms of marketing that I found on Friday.

What do you all think? Can you all help me stick to this plan this week? Like I said, I have been working on this for too long now. It’s about time that I just get something out there. I can work on it more when I have more skill, or I can hire someone to create a better website when I can afford it.
And here is my motivation for the week:
I know that I have potential in this. It’s about time that I reach it.
