This is going to sound stupid, but I actually struggled with a title to this post. Because it’s not necessary about my personal life, but more of my professional life. And then I realized that there isn’t really a distinction anymore. It’s all kind of blending together, so I won’t stress about it.
Anyway, I have exciting news.
So, this is kind of cool.
If you don’t really know a whole lot about wedding blogs, here’s the thing. There are a lot out there. But, like all blogs, there are a handful that really dominate. I’m sure you’ve heard of most of these: Style Me Pretty and Green Wedding Shoes are two of the main ones.
Wedding Chicks is also one of those really big wedding blogs. The type that I dream about being featured on. And if you’re one of those people who don’t know a whole lot about wedding blogs, then you may not know that a lot of these blogs also have vendor networks, where they choose specific types of vendors to be included. I mean, I did have to pay, but Wedding Chicks chose to include me on their vendors list! That…is pretty darn cool. Not that I needed any validation to be legit, but to be real, this is validation that I am legit.
I am a recognized wedding planner. How awesome is that?
It may sound like I’m beating a dead horse right now, but it’s really all because of this. Because I’m taking chances like you wouldn’t believe, and I’m getting amazing results!
I’m going to be a contributor to a really amazing wedding blog.
Elizabeth Messina DMed me on Twitter yesterday!
My favorite Project Runway winner has put my button on her blog.
And I’m actually going to be on the Wedding Chicks blog soon.
It’s hard work. Seriously hard work. I don’t know that I ever would have imagined how much I’d be doing for all of this, but, I absolutely love it. I actually look forward to coming home and getting my work done. It’s all made me happier than I ever thought possible.
Even when I make mistakes, I’m happy. Because I’ve learned that making mistakes is really just a learning experience. I wouldn’t be where I am if I hadn’t made some pretty big mistakes. But I finally am happy with a lot of things that have to do with both my business and my blog. I finally feel like I’ve found the path that I need to be on, even if it took a little while.
So, I guess I should say thank you, for sticking around during that trial and error period. I promise it’s going to get a whole lot better from now on!
