{wedding wednesday: fall dress trends}

You get an extra special treat today, because I have TWO wedding posts for you! David’s Bridal is on the blog today, talking about wedding dress trends for fall. Enjoy!

A perfect wedding is a delicate balance between current trends and personal taste. As you plan your fall wedding, consider some of these popular fashion trends for the season.

Beyond Leaf Tones

Most fall weddings rely heavily on the colors of fall leaves, but jewel tones are perfect for fall weddings with their rich intensity. Dark purples, reds, and blues blend beautifully with golden accents, which can act as a subtle nod to the season. For a more intensely elegant look, combine red with black and white. This sophisticated color palette is an excellent choice for late fall or a night wedding.

Jewel

Lace

The trends for fall offer fabulous options for the most traditional or untraditional bride. If you have been waiting for lace to make a come-back, your wait is over. For those who are unsure about baring their arms, sleeves are also still in, you can thank Princess Kate Middleton for that! This White by Vera Wang dress from David’s Bridal offers a fantastic combination of the two trends, it features a detachable illusion piece with sheer, lace sleeves over a strapless gown. For a simpler look you could wear it without the sash.

VW Sleeves

Vintage

In the fashion world, everything old becomes modern again at some point and vintage inspired designs are a hot commodity this season. This Oleg Cassini dress combines all-over lace and a trumpet shape that may be your perfect fit. You can also expect to see a lot of glamorous, old Hollywood style looks that incorporate shiny, silky fabrics, and touches of sparkle.

Lace

Color

The nontraditional bride will be happy to hear that white is not her only color option this fall. Pale shades of pink, champagne, and even blue are popping up in the hottest bridal salons this season. For the extremely non-traditional bride, this champagne, peplum style dress may be for you. If you want to stand out without going too far, you may want to opt for a more traditional style dress in a blush shade.

Fall 3

As you plan your big day, look for ways to use trends as a way to leave your special touch on an event that is distinctively yours.
